Tell Me In The Morning

A poem by Wes Pinter

You said you couldn’t love me
You’re immune to all my charms
But tell me in the morning
When you wake up in my arms

You turned and tried to walk away
Then cast a backward glance
To see if I was watching you
For this is how we dance

You winked and smiled slyly
With your hands upon your hips
You had my full attention
As I watched you lick your lips

You know just how to tease me
Your eyes are so intense
I feel them pull me closer
Stimulating every sense

You lean in slowly, knowingly
Getting ready for my kiss
You know I can’t resist you
Once I’ve tasted love’s pure bliss

“Disinterest” and “Hard to Get”
Are only games we play
The winner gives in willingly
But gets to have their way

You said you couldn’t love me
You’re immune to all my charms
But tell me in the morning
When you wake up in my arms

  1. O M G! This a really good one Wes. Love it. When will that book of poems be coming out? And are they all gonna be love poem or will there others like sorrow, loss, heartbreak, or even love of family and so on. Either way I am waiting for my copy .

    • Thanks so much, Melissa! I’m really glad you like it! 🙂 I’m planning to do a variety of poems for the book, including some humor, too. As you know, I’ve been crazy busy, but I have several that I’m still working on and hope to have enough material for a draft version in the next few months and will most likely self-publish early next year. I sincerely appreciate all your support and encouragement! ❤️🙂
